: Josh Raab ’11 and Katie Orlinsky ’05, who work for National Geographic as director of Instagram and a contributing photojournalist, respectively, showcase the power of photography to document how climate change affects the relationship between people, wildlife, and land.

: Manya Whitaker, associate professor of education, and Jake Eichengreen, executive director of the Quad Innovation Partnership, were two of six individuals honored with the Mayor’s Young Leader Awards for their contributions to Colorado Springs.
 
Liz Kolbe ’08, a Grinnel, Iowa native, was recognized at the Iowa State Extension and Outreach program’s Women in Agriculture conference for her work with Practical Farmers of Iowa.
 
Allison Rowe ’08 is one of 10 University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) climate-smart educators who are working to implement solutions to climate change while contributing to resilient farming economies.
 
Sefra Levin ’07 and her brother Jesse have opened a pop-up shop in Westport, Connecticut. Their company, named Tactivate, outfits customers with gear, and offers advice and training for every conceivable emergency. They bring readiness skills to the veteran, disaster response and entrepreneurial communities. 
 
: Park City Community Foundation director Katie Wright ’02 helps connect people to their passions. Her organization has also been tasked recently with addressing the issues of social inequity and disparities in her community.
 
: Governor Polis appointed Sueanna Johnson ’97 as one of three new Court of Appeals judges. Johnson was serving as the Senior Assistant Attorney General at the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, a position she has held since 2017.
 
Lennard Zinn ’80, who graduated with a degree in physics, is now an author of many publications about mountain biking and general cycling. Zinn is also a custom bike builder, purveyor of custom and non-custom bikes, and former U.S. national team rider. Learn more about Zinn and his bicycling passion.
 
: “The Sound of Music” opens this weekend at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College and there is much more substance to this show than you might think.
